Alternative Developments – changing the perception of student accommodation

Student accommodation conjures up images of drab, grey, uninspiring box rooms. Not anymore, thanks to Alternative Developments’ bold new offering in the trendy East End.

Firedog is proud to be working with this game-changing company, creating a premium brand for an educated young audience. We pitched for this exciting opportunity and were selected from at least three other agencies.

We have since immersed ourselves in the development’s arty-fashion district – it is our neck of the woods after all – to create a stylish, understated look and feel for the brand that is now called Assam Place.

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to see for myself the many spectacular creative works by Leonardo da Vinci, currently displayed for a limited time, in the National Gallery.

More fascinating and intriguing than the paintings, were the sketches and plans undergone in preparation for his many famous works of portraiture. These pieces explored anatomy, material folds and dimension. It was a special privilege to see these plans up close – not least because the vast majority of these preparatory pieces are owned by the Queen and form part of her private collection.

Method – Proof that branding is a good investment

Firedog has had the pleasure of working with some of the best fund managers in the business.

We were tasked with building a strategic direction, brand identity and brand architecture for this investment hedge fund, whose areas of expertise include risk and SICAV.

We all know it’s been a tricky 24 months in the financial world, so Method Investments came to Firedog with their challenge – develop a new brand for a tough market. As we continue to develop the identity and messaging system, Method will also be enjoying a new website to show off their very special offering. We’re halfway through this great project so check back soon for the final case study.

Firedog celebrates in style

It was nine whole years ago that Firedog was conceived and all the magic began, so in true Firedog style, we donned our fancy dress and had a party! We had a loose brief of dressing up as nine year olds, but were allowed to freestyle a bit. Animal tattoos, odd glasses and weird hair do’s were all the rage..

One good turn deserves another…

The suns out… finally! And that means pimms and lemonade, smiley, happy people and lunches in the park. Hoxton Square is our little lunchtime patch of choice. If your timing is perfect, you can get a spot on the left side – the bit with more rays and more grass.
