After a hard days graft at the office, I made my way home and sat down in front of the telly for some “switch off” time. It was not to be.
Having a look at the line up, I spotted a programme called The Fixer with Alex Polizzi on BBC Two. Mmm, I thought to myself, that rings a bell. A bridal shop. A mum with two daughters. More bells ringing. Then I recalled, last summer we were approached by Alex on behalf of Twofour to lend a hand in the making of a reality show. It was meant to screen this summer – So I was not exactly expecting my mug to be splashed across my Samsung in high definition. Does everyone look so, mmm, shiny?

February 2012
It’s the time of year where we need to rush out and stock up on Christmas presents for our friends and families. Even though the vast majority of Londoners buy their presents online (do we?) – There still is a time and place for soaking up the spirit and hitting the streets.
And what is more, you don’t have to rely on the nightmare crowds (and tourists) of the West End – There are plenty of less populated, and probably more interesting places to visit. Here are a couple of destinations that have been tickling our fancy this month.

December 2011

Taking advantage of the recent late summer weather, the Firedog studio closed down shop for a day and took to the seas across the Solent, just outside of the port of Southhampton.
The yacht in question was kindly provided via charter by Rob Davison at Alexir Blue. It’s a bit of a beauty this creature, a Bavaria 39 (Which Rob informs us is actually 41 foot, length ambiguity not being what you would expect from a German manufacturer). Built in 2007, it’s known as a performance cruiser, with four cabins.
In order to get a full day on the water, we headed down to the coast the night before. It was decided that the boys in the studio would stay on the yacht and the girls would inhabit lodgings on firmer ground.

We recently published a 28 page Firedog Black and White paper – Entitled the “Art of equity”. The lead article looks at the relationship between creativity and business equity, via focussing on Apple’s Steve Jobs – Written a short while before he passed away. Have a look at the article below, which is included in full.
First, we would just like to add that we have been bowled over by the world’s admiration of Steve Jobs following his log off from planet earth. We’ve (Ok, just me) have always had a tricky relationship with this design icon. By all intents and purposes, as a designer, I should be right up their with my brethren holding a light to this amazing man.
But I’ve always wanted to be a little different, I guess – And have fought using Apple products as much as I could – Based purely on the logic of not being associated with others. That was until the iPhone, which for the first time, completely destroyed the competitive landscape. Not using this fine Apple product started to, quite unlike before, question your very intelligence behind your choice as a consumer.

October 2011

We have recently rebranded our creative agency after seven years carrying the same visual identity. To celebrate this renaissance, we held an intimate gig in legendary music production powerhouse, Metropolis studios.
The Firedoggers and VIP clients rocked out to up and coming signed act, Whisky and the Wilsons, whilst experiencing the studio mastering process first hand. We were shown how a track is laid down in all the differing parts, before being polished by the resident engineer. A group handclap created via team effort even made the cut (Aw, kum-bah-yah!)
